His Eminence, the Grand Ayatollah Our master and beloved, the scholar, Sayyid Badr al-Din al-Houthi, may Allah prolong his glory and grant him victory. *We are a group of female Zainabi believers who support the mujahideen under your leadership. We wish to ask the Grand Ayatollah and our master, Imam Badr al-Din al-Houthi, may Allah preserve him: A group of the victorious mujahideen has extended an invitation to us to attend a group gathering in one of the Husseiniyas for mut'ah [temporary marriage]. They stated that collective mut'ah brings seventy times more reward than practicing mut'ah individually. We asked one of the scholars in the region, and he denied knowing anything related to this type of mut'ah and said that it is among the innovations. One of the mujahideen leaders among the Believing Youth cast doubt on this fatwa, saying that this scholar is a Salafi, a Nasibi, and an apostate. Thus, we ask your Eminence: Is collective mut'ah permissible for us, given that its duration is limited to only several hours, meaning less than a night, and that the purpose of this mut'ah gathering is to fulfill the desires of the mujahideen army of the Believing Youth who cannot marry due to their preoccupation with the battle against the Nawasib, and that the proceeds from the reward of mut'ah go toward equipping the mujahideen with weapons?* Answer us, may Allah reward you with the best reward of the doers of good. *The Zainabi Amat al-Ghafoor Muhammad al-Haydani, on behalf of the constellation of Zainabis supporting the mujahideen in Haydan and Marran. 17 Shawwal 1427 AH In His Name, the Exalted It is known that mut'ah marriage is blessed and permissible in our sect, and the Nawasib have tried to make us doubt it and prevent us from it out of fear that the children of our sect will multiply, our numbers will increase, and we will become a great power. Therefore, we advise the followers of the sect against taking precautions regarding anything related to mut'ah marriage. Holding gatherings for collective mut'ah is among the matters that our grand religious authorities have permitted, while taking care that no one from outside the sect and its followers, or from among the common folk [Sunnis], enters those gatherings lest they look upon the private parts of the female believers. Perhaps this is the reason for the hatred of the Nasibi Salafis toward mut'ah. It is known that mut'ah with one of the mujahideen carries a greater reward than with others, because he sheds his blood to defend the sect and spread it. Therefore, we ask the Zainabis not to be stingy toward them with anything, knowing what Allah has bestowed upon them of blessings with their bodies and their wealth.* *Therefore, we call upon the Zainabi sister to consult one of our accredited representatives to obtain permission from him to hold those gatherings so that they remain under complete surveillance and absolute control by the leadership of the mujahideen.* May Allah grant you success in what is good.
