Diary of a Mujahid The First Day:
On the first day, the place feels strange to you while you are eager. When midnight arrives, tranquility descends, calm descends, and you feel a peace of mind the likes of which you have never felt in your life. You keep remembering Allah all night long, then you have your comrade watch in your place and you get up to pray two rak'ahs; you feel as though you are praying for the first time in your life. Real life... real life... The Hour of Battle
As soon as the battle begins, that feeling of peace leaves you, and you become occupied with striking here and there. You proclaim Allah's greatness, turn, and strike: "Allah is greatest, Allah is greatest, Allah is greatest." When the enemy is driven back, a happiness descends that fills your chest until you become addicted to this happiness, and you want to experience this feeling continuously, wishing that battles would take place every day. Moments of Attack
As for when you decide to attack; you perform ablution and pray two rak'ahs while looking at Paradise before you. When you reach prostration, you glorify Allah, and then it settles firmly in your heart and you supplicate Allah: "O Allah, grant us power over their necks." Then you make the salutation of peace, and you agree on how to attack while feeling an ecstasy and feeling a strength that has descended from the sky. Then you set out under firing cover, the earth trembling beneath you and around your sides while you are indifferent: "O Allah, there is no life except the life of the Hereafter."
When you reach the enemy's barricades, Allah casts terror into their hearts; so you overwhelm them and kill them one by one, and whoever of them flees is wounded. Then you turn to your companions and shout at the top of your voice: "Allah is greatest, Allah is greatest, and praise be to Allah," until control is established, and reinforcement and support reach you. Summary of the Experience
By Allah, it is life, life, life; whoever has not lived its details has not truly lived!
True, it has weariness, it has toil, it has exhaustion, and it has shocks, but as the predecessors said: "We found the best of our lives through patience."
*So I urge every Muslim, every Sunni; the gates of jihad are open, and before us is an enemy that is among the fiercest enemies of Islam, of the Sunnah, of religion, of morals, and of everything.* True, some military men failed us, the rank-holders failed us, and we expect no good from them for most of them abandon prayer. But Allah prepares for these hardships men and heroes whom He chooses from everywhere; so rise up to give victory to your religion, for Allah is our protector and they have no protector.
